Over the past months, the storyline of the "The Amazing Spider-Man 3" has been the room for guessing game for most. However, it is not only the storyline that intrigues the moviegoers but also the fate of Marc Webb's Web-Crawler franchise.

We all heard Marvel's announcement of its Phase 3 Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), with the path seems clearer than Sony's plans to Spider-Man spinoffs and sequels. One of the movies that lined up in MCU is "Captain America: Civil War".

For Marvel comic book readers, they know why Spider-Man plays an integral part in "Civil War" story arc. That part of the storyline leads to speculation that the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man may appear in the "Captain America" sequel. This also makes netizens shout, "bring the Web-crawler back to Marvel".

Recently, a leak to the e-mail conversation between Sony and Disney has invaded the World Wide Web, and tt seems that the two studios are having a serious talk on the fate of Spider-Man. In the 8-page document, the outline of plans for Spider-Man may lead to another reboot, which indirectly saying that "The Amazing Spider-Man 3" will not happen in 2018 despite previous announcement by Sony.

However, in the leaked document too, reboot appears to be not applicable because the potential plans for Spider-Man won't tell how Peter Parker acquired the spider-like power but rather a story that will continue the life of Spider-Man.

In e-mails conversation between Marvel Studios and Sony found by The Wall Street Journal, it tells that Marvel would like to include Spider-Man in "Captain America: Civil War". But nothing is official or final yet if the Web-slinger will be joining the sequel. In case Sony would not let go of Spider-Man, Marvel might go back to its original plan, which is to give Black Panther an important role as Spider-Man in the "Civil War" story.

But in case Sony would say yes to a Spider-Man trilogy that Marvel Studios would take control of the creative vision, Sony Pictures would retain its rights to "creative control and marketing distribution".

While everything is unofficial, Spider-Man fans would just have to wait for further announcement if the "Sinister Six" would be pursued and if there would be "The Amazing Spider-Man 3" in 2018.
