Mischa Barton has hit some rough patch in her career but recent news surrounding the "OC" actress seemed to suggest that she has turned her life around.
On Friday, the 28-year-old actress was snapped stepping out of MILK bakery and ice cream parlor in Los Angeles while dressed in a gray blouse and dark gray blazer.
"The young star, who has had her fair share of ups and downs over the years, chatted on the phone as she walked purposefully down the street in West Hollywood," MailOnline noted. "In her free hand she clutched a file of paperwork and a glossy brochure."
It's been a rough few months for Mischa Barton, according to previous news reports.
There was the report that she was five months behind on her rent amounting to $100,000, said People.
"The lender has placed the property in foreclosure, meaning Barton risks losing the estate unless she works out an agreement or gets current on her payments soon," the magazine said. The actress took out $4.2 million loan in order to acquire the eight-bedroom property in Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, Mischa Barton received the Global Generation award at the 2014 Millennium Campus Conference at Lynn Universry in Florida. She also took the opportunity to promote her new movie "Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain."
The movie, said Huffington Post, "focuses on the relatively unknown 1984 gas tragedy which occurred at the Union Carbide India Limited pesticide plant in Bhopal, India. This industrial disaster, only surpassed in magnitude by the Chernobyl disaster that happened two years later, is finally given much deserved attention in this film."
In her speech at the university, said the Huffton Post recent news about Mischa Barton, the actress said:
"A lot was swept under the rug around it and it's weird what captures people at the time. There is a big change now, if the media are talking about it, it reaches the masses."
