After much anticipation on Twitter, Iggy Azalea confirmed that she has indeed collaborated with Britney Spears.
The “Work” rapper revealed news of the collaboration during a backstage interview at Kiss 108’s Jingle Ball on Sunday night in Boston, according to Direct Lyrics.
“She said she would like to work with me in an interview and they kind of reached out and we recorded a few different things and one of those just ended up being undeniably great, and so hopefully, I think everyone will be able to hear it in the beginning of next year,” stated Azalea.
The Australian model had to work to get to be able to earn her debut with the queen of pop, evident from the four Grammy nominations the “Fancy” rapper received.
“The New Classic” hitmaker revealed that she’ll be spending New Year’s in Las Vegas where she’ll be checking out Britney’s “Pieces of Me” performance, according to PopCrush. Despite the collaboration between the two, Iggy Azalea revealed that the two weren’t really able to have a conversation.
“Hopefully I’ll get to officially meet her because we have a song that is gonna be her first single coming out next year,” Azalea revealed.
As for the upcoming track with Britney, Iggy Azalea is clearly expecting it to be a hit.
“I think people are going to really love it and enjoy it. I think it’s a really fun track,” stated Azalea.
