It could be a sad news for Andrew Garfield fans as this guy might not appear in the next "Spiderman" movie.
This news was brought up by a mysterious Sony email hacker. According to the latest Sony email leaked, Marvel plans a clean reboot of "Spiderman" without "Social Network" actor who played the role of Peter Parker in the comicbook movie.
The Spidey movie rumor started from an email conversation between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures, which was exposed by mysterious Sony Hacker. The conversations talked about who are in talks of splitting the production costs to a 60/40 deal for the "Spider-Man" franchise. As per Yahoo, Marvel will be having complete control over the new franchise while Sony still retains the distribution rights.
Yahoo cited Latino Review about this issue. According to the publication, "if this deal goes through, Marvel has no plans of bringing back Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker as well as the other cast from "The Amazing Spider-Man" franchise."
Hollywood Life reported the reason why Marvel wants to take full control the reboot movie is due to the flop "The Amazing Spider-Man" franchise. With that, Marvel wanted a fresh start to rebuild the franchise.
The hack email also revealed Sony's plans on a solo film focused on "Aunt May" and female "Spider-Man spin-off."
"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" garnered USD9.4 million in Malaysia and made a worldwide gross of over USD708.9 million.
