"Community" season 6 has started filming!
Fans of the comedy were relieved that the show will be continuing to share laughs in a different platform. After NBC axed the show after its 5th season, Yahoo Screen announced that they will be ressurrecting the show and will be airing the 6th season.
The upcoming run will see the return of the following cast members, IGN reported:
"Alison Brie is under contract for Season 6, along with Joel McHale, Yvette Nicole Brown, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Ken Jeong and Jim Rash. All seven of these actors are expected to be a part of the new season. Now keep in mind we don't know if this means that they'll all be in all 13 episodes, but you should expect to see Jeff, Shirley, Annie, Britta, Abed, Chang and the Dean again in these new episodes."
It is important to note however that Yvette Nicole Brown has already announced her departure from the show. Paget Brewster and Keith David, on the other hand will join the wacky crew next season.
New reports now claim that Chevy Chase has expressed his intent to return to the show.
"I will be in a small cameo at the beginning of Community and if they ask me to come back and do one or two appearances, it's a possibility,"Chase said in a Reddit AMA.
But how can a dead man return? As fans of the show will remember, Chase's character died on the show after he left the show in 2012. Some are speculating that should he return, a "fake death" plot could be the easiest way to go about his return. However despite the rumors, Sony addressed the speculations by saying: "At this time, Chevy is not confirmed to appear in Season 6."
In an interview with IGN, Harmon dished on "Community" season 6 transitioning from TV to online viewership. What would it be like?
"Yeah, we're not brainstorming a lot of jokes that are going to be like, 'Oh, this will be hilarious because it'll be a metaphor for Yahoo taking over Greendale,' or whatever. We're not above going down that road sometimes. If we come with an idea that really resonates with us, then we end up realizing that it resonates with us because we sort of are Greendale, and we are in a new situation. It's just as much cause for celebration as it is for concern to somebody who is a frantic, rabid fan," Harmon shared.
New episodes will reportedly air early 2015.
