Rolene Strauss Miss World 2014: 1st Winner In 40 Years From S. Africa; Tribute Features Aishwarya Rai Most Successful Title-Holder
Rolene Strauss Miss World 2014. Strauss, 22, is a medical student from South Africa and is the daughter of a doctor and a nurse. Following her win at the Excel London ICC Auditorium, Rolene waring a blue and gold studded crown waved to her fans.
Miss United States Elizabeth Safrit was named third in the beauty pageant. Strauss nudged out Safrit and Miss Hungary Edina Kulcsar to take the title, Rolene Strauss Miss World 2014. The 64th Miss World pageant included women from 121 nations.
Speaking with great pride about her country, Rolene Strauss Miss World 2014 was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail, "South Africa, this is for you," adding, "I'm so proud of you and I'm proud to be your representative."
Among the categories in the competition included beach fashion, media suaveness, modeling, individual talent, sports and charity contributions.
Rolene said in her introduction video, she used her role as Miss South Africa to champion "passion for women's rights, health and education." Rolene has an ambition to go to business school, complete her medical degree in order to start a business that can assist women.
The Miss World website said that at least a billion viewers were glued to their TV sets to watch the live event in London. Rolene Strauss Miss World 2014 is the first South African to win the competition in 40 years.

Former Miss World winner from India, Aishwarya Rai was featured in a tribute for being the most successful Miss World winner and her commitment to 'beauty with a purpose.' She won the title in 1994 and she is a regular to the Cannes Festival representing the myriad of movies she has starred in.
