Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott's marriage appears to be on the road to recovery after the finale of "True Tori." According to a report from People, the mother-of-four claims the reality show helped rebuild their family.
The former "Beverly Hills 90210" star revealed that "things are really good" with her family amid all the controversies that were documented by "True Tori."
The 41-year-old shared: "We're working really hard at our relationship and our family."
"We are truly committed to each other," she added.
While Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott's marriage problems were highlighted throughout "True Tori," the actress believes the reality show did them more good than harm.
The former teen star said: "I feel like I've always had a good connection with my fans and everyone out there.
She continued: "I'm very open and honest about my life. My life has been very public, and it's hard to keep things private."
"I'd rather get the truth out there than have people write what they think the truth is," Tori Spelling pointed out.
"True Tori" also gave everybody a first-hand account of what was really going on with Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott's marriage, as opposed to hearing different rumors from many sources. She said: "It was my way of making sure that if people are going to make up stories, I'm going to tell them exactly how it is so they don't have their chance to do that."
However, it appears that the actress' husband, Dean McDermott, is not too happy about what the reality show did to their family. He said during the "True Tori" finale that he "sacrificed chunks of (his) soul" for the series, and added "there's hope for Tori and Dean if we don't do the f---ing show."
An earlier report from Hollywood Life also revealed how Jack McDermott, the teen son of Dean McDermott with ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace, has also expressed his disgust over the series.
The 16-year-old was initially supportive of "True Tori," and was even featured during the reality series' November 11 episode.
However, having Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott's mounting marriage issues be played out on TV appeared to have taken its toll on Jack McDermott. He tweeted: "Having to hear about my family fall apart each week is torture."
"For the kids, for me, for this family, end the chaos," Tori Spelling's stepson pleaded.
Jack McDermott added another tweet: "Can't watch this anymore. Just cancel True Tori already...the bulls*** needs to stop!"
