Angelina Jolie, who was called “a minimally talented spoiled brat” in the midst of the Sony e-mail hack, has clearly experienced the evils of technology.
That’s why the “Unbroken” director has taken extra steps to protect her six kids from the world of the Internet.
“We have someone who monitors that,” explained the 39-year-old actress, according to People.
She added, “It’s a scary new world. It’s so beyond what we understand. We wouldn’t even know what to look for.”
The cyber security team that Angelina Jolie and her husband Brad Pitt hired reportedly monitors the Internet and social media content that their children encounter. The ages of Jolie and Pitt’s kids range from 6 to 13.
As for Angelina Jolie, the “Tomb Raider” actress, who describes herself as “old-school,” reportedly doesn’t use social media, including Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and writes things down in a notebook instead.
Brad Pitt made an appearance at the “Unbroken” premiere with his kids without Jolie, who was at home with the chickenpox. Pitt made sure to address the Sony e-mail hack during the premiere of his wife’s film.
“I was just saying that I don’t see a difference in News Corp hacking phone calls and hacking e-mails. I don’t think we should be able to participate,” explained Pitt, according to Access Hollywood.
The father-of-six added, “I think someone’s conversation, whether in e-mail or in person, should be private. We shouldn’t be participating and these sites that are disseminating them should stop. They won’t. And we should stop reading them. We won’t. It’s more of an indictment on us, I think.”
“Unbroken” will be in theaters on Christmas.
