“The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Giudice will be reporting to prison to serve her 15-month sentence in less than three weeks.
Teresa Giudice is already going through a difficult time, but the cookbook author recently got an unpleasant surprise when her house was reportedly raided by federal officials this week, according to Radar Online.
The raid was made in order to seize property to reportedly satisfy the $214,000 Teresa and Joe Giudice owe in restitution, according to Music Times. Teresa Giudice was reportedly at the house when the raid occurred.
“She had no clue they were coming. She was absolutely hysterical, and begging them not to take the girls’ Christmas presents,” a source close to the situation told Radar.
“Plasma televisions, expensive jewelry, cash and the kids’ Christmas presents were taken” while “a large amount of cash was found in the wine cellar,” according to the source.
“The property will now be auctioned off with the money going into a trust account. If there is any money left over, it would go to paying creditors in their bankruptcy, in which they owe $14.3 million,” the insider explained.
The source added, “This could have all been avoided if Teresa had simply submitted a proposed plan to pay off the restitution. Yet, Teresa chose to once again thumb her nose at the law, and was ignoring it.”
Unfortunately, the reality television star’s four daughters will have to deal with the consequences of the recent raid at the Giudice house as Christmas is just around the corner.
“She is absolutely devastated that there won’t be any Christmas presents for their girls.”
