Fappening Victim Kate Upton Is 'Sexiest Woman,' 1st-Ever To Receive Award At People Magazine Inaugural
Kate is well known for her role in the romantic comedy, 'The Other Woman' and her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.
"This is such an honor to me because sexy to me means someone who's confident and happy, and that's the person I always strive to be," Upton was quoted as saying by CBS News after accepting her award.
The award recipients were selected by People Magazine editors and some of the other winners included Jimmy Fallon for Talk Show Host of the Year, Kate Hudson for Celebrity Role Model of the Year, Karlie Kloss for Model of the Year, and Gwen Stefani for Style Icon of the Year.
According to People's tradition, it selected a 'Sexiest Man Alive' last month and it was none other than Chris Hemsworth. The Sexiest Woman Alive award was named at People's inaugural gathering at Beverly Hilton Hotel, which makes Kate Upton the first to receive the award.
Kate has beat critics this year to come out on top. She was called 'fat' by some critics for her large-sized body, but for her height and weight of 141lbs, Kate's BMI was on the low end of standard levels. Her best work was the Sports Illustrated cover.
In September, Kate was one of the firs to be targeted in the Fappening nude photo leaks along with Jennifer Lawrence. Kate did not give much publicity to her private photo leaks like other A-listers whose photos were hacked and displayed on image sharing site 4Chan and passed onto Reddit for a public display on the Internet.
In an interview with Details magazine, Kate said that she appreaciated working in nude as a work of art, but that social media is not the platform for the selective art form: "For me those photos are art. Your body is art, your body is beautiful, and to be photographed in that way is amazing and it's received in a very positive way," ETOnline reported.
The sexiest woman alive continued to say in the report, "I really appreciate those [nude] photos and I think those women are beautiful, but I think social media and the Internet has prevented me from putting myself out there like that."
