Hit TV show "Scandal" season 4 is on winter break, but updates about Olivia Pope and the rest of the cast continues to spread online. What can fans expect when the show returns on January?

As fans can remember, Olivia was kidnapped in the season finale. Previous reports have claimed that US Vice President Andrew Nichols is behind the dirty deed to force Fitz to declare war against West Angola. Several speculations have also dragged Olivia's flame Jake into the kidnapping, citing him as a suspect as well.

But all eyes are on Fitz. What will the US President do?

In an interview with TVGuide, Tony Goldwyn who plays Fitz shared, "It will potentially destroy Fitz again. How much more can a man take? This will really test him. The stakes are unbelievably high and I can say that it will be scary."

"My guess is that Fitz will really team up with Jake to save Olivia," Goldwyn said. "I think he and Jake would really enlist each other's help. As much as he's got his issues with Jake, Jake's his best ally in doing that."

As for Olivia's condition, fans can assume that the lady hero is in deep trouble.

In her interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kerry Washington dished on some exclusive details about Olivia Pope's fate in "Scandal" season 4.

"She's in pretty extraordinary danger. Game of Thrones has changed the game. Maybe I've been really misbehaved. Maybe Shonda is mad at me. It did make me feel like, 'Do I need to talk to Shonda?'" She said.

The star also dished on the new things she's working on for her role. The star tweeted:

"Today while playing Olivia Pope I did something that I've never done before and something else that I haven't done in a LOOOONG time."

It could be anything from doing major stunts, to sporting prosthetics. Fans just have to watch "Scandal" season 4 when it returns on air January 29.
