Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Update Release Date Problems: Samsung Denmark 'Note 2 To Get A Boost Up To Android 5 Later In 2015'

Samsung GalaxyNote 2 Update Release Date Problems. It's no surprise that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is far back in the hierarchy of former flagship smartphones, particularly with a Samsung Galaxy S6 slated for next year and a newly released Samsung Note 4 recently released.

Gottamobile quotes Samsung Denmark as saying the Galaxy S5 Active, the Note Edge, Galaxy S5 Mini, Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy Alpha will be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop later in 2015. This is speculated to mean that the Android L update will come after the Android 5 updates for the Galaxy S5, S4, the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Note 4. These devices are frontrunners for Google's Android 5 Lollipop updates.

However, Samsung has not mentioned anything about the Galaxy Note 2 Lollipop Update release date, although a new 4G variant on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat has been slated for release. Obviously, the Note 2 is not a new phone and it may not be high on the priority list for updates. Samsung may also want its users to look into newer models to update to the latest Android 5.

It's worth mentioning that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is on regional listings for an update to the Android 5 from Android 4.4, though it's not on the list of updates for listings from South Korea, where Samsung is headquartered. But analysts say that if it is on a listing somewhere, there's a chance that the Note 4 will gradually switch from the Android 4.4 to Android 5.

Gottabemobile said that it has not heard from U.S. carriers about updates, although they are eager to provide support for their ailing flagship phones. The Android 4.4 is widely available in the U.S. and the carriers want to provide lengthy support for older models.
