He also gave fans a taste of his new challenging role by showing off his country twang! If the deep southern accent was anything to go by, it looks like the Internet's darling is quite ready to play the country legend, Hank Williams!
There were several misgivings about Hiddleston's casting for the role but Rodney Crowell's previous account of the 33-year-old's very rigid training and work ethics.
"After nearly a month spent collaborating with this gifted artist, I'm as respectful of the man's work ethic as I'm mystified by his transformational skills. Without a doubt, the filmmakers chose the right actor for the job," Crowell said in his Facebook post.
Tom Hiddleston singing a Christmas Song isn't the only the precious performance that the heartthrob has shared to his fans vocally.
Some country music fans were able to watch him display his singing skills when the actor performed during the Wheatland Music Festival.
According to Crowell, "the classically trained British actor" had immediately joined a performance for the Wheatland Music Festival a day after arriving in Nashville. When asked to perform 'I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry,' he had reportedly surprised Crowell by agreeing right away. He "[skilfully] performed the tune before what must have been 1500 people."
