The "Iron Man 4" rumors already died when Robert Downey Jr. gave out a hint that there won't be another sequel. During an interview with David Letterman, the actor told the host that he won't be doing another "Iron Man" movie, but he said that he will still be involved with Marvel and do other fun stuff with them.
In a separate interview with The Telegraph, the actor that plays Tony Stark revealed the future of the film franchise and other Marvel movies. He said, "Avengers was another opportunity, but they're not talking about Iron Man 4. I was kind of bombed out to tell the truth, but maybe they've got bigger fish to fry and I trust their overall vision. The funny thing about these genre movies is you'd think they were national secrets."
There are also rumors that "Iron Man 4" will push through, but with a different actor just like the James Bond series. A popular choice is Colin Farrell, who is 11 years younger than Robert Downey Jr. According to What Culture, "Farrell has a strong resemblance to Downey's Stark, filling out a suit nicely and working a very similar hair style."
However, it seems that the 49-year old actor is ready to wear that suit again. Just recently, Robert Downey Jr. teased his followers on Facebook when he posted photos of his arc reactor. You will see the evolution of his arc reactor per sequel. He captioned the image, "So...would the next one just be a shot of my chest hair?"
His fans got excited when they heard about that. One follower commented, "Sounds like a confirmation of Iron Man 4" and another fan said, "Next, wait ... Did you just say, NEXT?" According to Movie Pilot, Marvel has mentioned that there will be a secret movie and it could be shown after "Captain America: Civil War".
There are rumors that instead of producing "Iron Man 4", Marvel will do a sequel for "Captain America: Civil War" which will star Iron Man rather than Captain America. Do you think RDJ is just teasing us or will there really be another solo movie for Iron Man?
