Fans of the "Avengers 2" are excited to see the post-credits scene of "Guardians of the Galaxy" because there were reports that a teaser will be shown in the DVD, Blu-Ray, and digital copy of the Marvel blockbuster.

Here's what should have been included in the package as reported by Screen Crush:

Blu-ray, Digital HD, Disney Movies Anywhere, and 3D Blu-ray Combo Pack:

  • Never-Before-Seen Deleted Scenes
  • Exclusive Look at 'Marvel's The Avengers: Age of Ultron'
  • Making-of Featurettes
  • Gag Reel
  • Audio Commentary

DVD:

  • Exclusive Look at 'Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron'
  • Never-Before-Seen Deleted Scene

However, that didn't push through so James Gunn had to replace the "Avengers 2" post-credits scene to The Collector and Howard the Duck. During a podcast interview with Jeff Goldsmith, the director tried to explain why they didn't get "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" teaser.

He said, "I thought we were going to have an end credits sequence from like Avengers, ok. We never got it. Cap 2 stole it from us. But that's fine. We didn't really have any relationship to the Avengers anyway, so it makes sense that we didn't get it."

The 44-year old filmmaker had to scramble for a bonus scene to replace the "Avengers 2" post-credits scene. Gunn said, "We were trying to cut footage together that we already had to create an ending. And I thought about having Cosmo talk or do something like that. And then Fred Raskin, our editor, said, 'It's kind of like Benicio looks over at this box for a minute. We could probably cut something into that.' And that's when we came up...and I honestly can't remember if it was me or Fred...when we came up with putting Howard the Duck in the box."

I'm sure that got many fans disappointed because this is contrary to what James Gunn said a few months ago regarding the possibility of a crossover movie. He told Yahoo UK, "That could or could not include a couple of Avengers and a couple of Guardians meeting up, or all of the Avengers and all of the Guardians. But, we do inhabit the same universe and they're pretty big personalities that are likely to, at some point or another, run into each other."

In a separate interview with Screen Junkies (via MovieWeb), the director ended all rumors by saying: "We really are separate from the Avengers, and I don't think people should assume too many things about the Guardians play in all this." Do you think there's still a chance for a crossover movie?
