Samsung Galaxy S6 Release Date: 'Project Zero' Expected To Unveil At MWC 2015, Rumored Specs - Android 5 Pre-Installed, Graphene/Metal, Touch Wiz UI, Qualcomm Snapdragon?
Samsung Galaxy S6 Release Date. According to a leaked report about the Samsung Galaxy S6 release date, the highly anticipated successor to the S6 and tipped to rival the fast-selling iPhone 6, will presumably carry a metal framework and a 4K screen.
The Galaxy S6, Samsung's next flagship, is nicknamed 'Project Zero' and will have to outdo its predecessor the Samsung Galaxy S5, since its sales data proved to be less than expected. The Galaxy S5 was released ahead of the much hyped iPhone 6 by Apple to give the Cupertino, Cal company a run for its money. But the Galaxy S5, released in early 2014 at the MWC in Barcelona at Samsung's special event turned out to be no match for the engineering and design expertise offered by Apple Inc.
Analysts say that all the flagship phones scheduled for 2014 release date have been unveiled. This includes the iPhone 6, the Samsung Galaxy Note4 and the Google Nexus 6. And it is obvious that a successor to the Samsung Galaxy S5 will not arrive this year.
Since the iPhone 6 and the Galaxy Note 4 were slated for release in September, the Galaxy S6 is expected to unveil close to MWC 2015. Next year's MWC is planned for March 2 and the Galaxy S6 is expected to unveil at an Unpacked event close to this date. On the other hand, there is some speculation that the Samsung Galaxy S6 will move the release date forward due to lackluster sales of the Samsung Galaxy S5.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 is rumored to run on the Android OS and will come preinstalled with the Android 5 Lollipop and the new version of the TouchWiz.
Galaxy S6 will use a SuperAMOLED screen, according to reports available on the S6, and may use graphene or metal after a doomed S5 made of plastic. The S6 is rumored to use one of Qualcomm's 64-bit processors, the Snapdragon 808 and Snapdragon 810. Or Samsung's new Exynos 7420 could be used but it is unlikely say most reports. As far as memory goes 32-, 64- and 128 GB models would be available while Samsung might offer the Galaxy S6 with 3 GB of RAM.
The camera will be a standard 16Mp resolution or it could have a higher resolution of 20MP.
