Samsung Lollipop Update - Galaxy S4, Note 2 Finally Get Android Upgrade After Shift In Korean Phone-Maker's Support?

Samsung Lollipop Update. New reports say that Samsung Lollipop Update has been confirmed for the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the Samsung Note 2. Some users of the Note 2 are still awaiting the Andoid 4.4.4 KitKat update and analysts say that it can take a while for Google's Android updates to get to all the handsets.

GSM Arena reports: "A rather interesting page has come to our attention, which reveals new information on Samsung's plan for Android Lollipop rollout. The URL in question comes from the Finnish section of Samsung.com, so it is about as reputable a source as it can get. It holds a table, that details the next planned update for a number of handsets and tablets and surprisingly enough it claims that Android 5.0 will reach quite a few models including a few fairly old smartphones."

The list scheduled for the Samsung Android Lollipop update includes the Galaxy Note 4 and the Note3. Both these models were anticipated to be bumped p to Lollipop. Analysts at gsmarena.com were surprised, however, to note the Galaxy Note 2 was on the same list. The Note 2 became a popular Samsung phablet after entering the markets in 2012.

Most analysts say that Samsung is bent on supporting devices every two years via 2 major updates. Many users were under the impression that Note 2 would be taken out of the Samsung line up since no updates had been forth-coming since its original Android 4.4.2 update which came with the smartphone. And Android 5 for the Samsung Note 2 is a surprise indeed.

Along with the Note 2 Samsung Lollipop Update, Galaxy S4 is also in the same shoes and users have been awaiting support for a while. This new policy on Samsung Lollipop updates could be a shift in the Korean phone-maker's policy, reports Samsung.com.
