Lebron James Christmas Day Games: NBA Ratings Go Up On ABC Caveliers-Heat Match, Watch Video Tribute To Bron
Lebron James thinks it was a good idea for the NBA to send him to play during Christmas day games. Forbes reported NBA on ABC viewership gained 19% on Christmas Day play when the Cavaliers took on LeBron's previous team, Miami Heat. The reports said that it was a highly anticipated game during the early NBA season. The drama of it all with Lebron James going back to Miami to face the Heat was a must see event and Disney, owner of ESPN and ABC, tactfully steered the game to be set for Christmas Day.
Other games on ESPN and ABC fared well too. The two games played on Christmas, Cleveland Caveliers vs Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder vs. San Antonio Spurs turned out an average of P2+ 7,786,000 TV viewers, up 16%. The U.S. household rating was up 14% from year ago figures.ESPN's New York Knicks vs. Washington Wizards telecast was also up in the twin digits.

"An average audience of 9,299,000 viewers (P2+) tuned-in to watch the Miami Heat defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers in LeBron James' return to Miami. The audience was up 19 percent versus last year. The broadcast delivered a 4.7 U.S. household rating, up 12 percent versus last year," Forbes.com shared.
