"The Good Wife" actor Mike Colter has been confirmed to play Luke Cage in "AKA Jessica Jones" series over at Netflix, as Krysten Ritter revealed that she's gobbling up all information she can about the superheroine.
According to Indie Revolver, "AKA Jessica Jones" will be a 13-part series which will air on Netflix after "Daredevil," which still has no air date.
The website said that Mike Colter was first reported to be reading with several actresses who were auditioning for the title character.
The official description says: "During the course of an investigation in New York City, private investigator Jessica Jones encounters the enigmatic Luke Cage - a man whose past has secrets that will dramatically alter Jessica in ways she could never have imagined."
Mike Colter was chosen as Luke Cage because he "embodies the strength, edge and depth of Luke Cage. We're excited to have him bring this iconic Marvel character to life," said showrunner Melissa Rosenberg, according to Den of Geek.
In a previous interview with Cosmopolitan, "Breaking Bad" actress Krysten Ritter claimed that she was never a fan of comic books prior to landing the title role in "AKA Jessica Jones."
"I wasn't, but I am now reading the Jessica Jones comics and devouring them," she said. "And [I'm] hooked. I don't think I've been so hooked on something since 'Serial.' So now I feel that way about the Jessica Jones series. I can't wait. I mean, as soon as we're done today, that's what I am going to be doing. I'm really excited about Jessica Jones. It's so f---ing cool. It's so cool. I can't wait to watch it."
It's not clear whether Krysten Ritter's character will have a relationship with Mike Colter as Luke Cage in the Netflix series "AKA Jessica Jones," following the comic book arc.
