With the spin-off on the go for 2015, could this mean that the Haruhi Suzumiya anime will have a season 3.
There are already several rumors that the spin-off itself is the Haruhi Suzumiya season 3 anime. But it is unlikely, since it is about Yuki Nagato and not Haruhi. However, fans are still hopeful since the popularity of the manga/anime series has already been established, the producers might consider having a season 3 in the works if the spin-off were to be successful.
The plot of the anime series will tell the story of Yuki Nagato from the Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya movie, as she is depicted here as a shy highschool student, and the sole member of the Literary Club, so expect less weird things within the show. Eventually anime fans will get to see the other beloved characters in the series such as Haruhi, Kyon, Koizumi, and Asahina, albeit in a supporting or cameo roles.
It's been almost four years since we last saw or heard Haruhi Suzumiya in any form of anime media. Nagaru Tanigawa's light novel series has been a huge success, not only in Asia but around the world. It was Kyoto animation who produced the anime TV series way back in April 2-July 2 of 2006, and was rebroadcast from April 3-October 9 of 2009. It also spawned a spin-off, "The Melancholy of Haruhi-chan Suzumiya" and the anime film, "The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya".
