Comedian/actor Chris Rock has reportedly filed divorce from his wife Malaak Compton-Rock.
Based on The Guardian's report, an attorney who represents the comedian confirmed the pending split of Rock and Malaak. The soon to be ex-couple have two daughters.
According to the statement of Rock's high-powered divorce attorney, Robert S Cohen, obtained by NY Post, "Chris requests privacy as he and Malaak work through this process and focus on their family."
Malaak also released a statement confirming the split last Sunday.
"After much contemplation and 19 years of marriage, Chris and I have decided to go our separate ways. Being fortunate enough to lead a life of service by working with those most vulnerable makes me well aware of life's blessings, even when faced with difficulties.
While recognizing that this is a significant change, my children remain at the center of my life and their well-being is my top priority. It is in this spirit that I sincerely ask that their privacy and the privacy of our family be respected during this transition in our lives."
After Chris confirmed the split with his wife, he's now reportedly dating with Rosario Dawson. According to Media Takeout, the alleged new couple are planning on going public about their romance. The source claimed, "They got together while making Top 5 . . but kept it quiet. Now I think Chris filed the papers on Malaak because he wants to go public with it."
