Casey Kasem's death will be investigated by his wife, Jean Kasem, said a report from Yahoo News, and the "American Top 40" host's children are only too willing to participate as they agreed to provide their stepmotehr with medical records.
In a statement issued by Kerri, Mike, and Julie Kasem through their lawyer Troy Martin, the radio star's first family said: "The Kasem children are happy to provide Mrs. Kasem with all such records in their possession."
The children aim to prove that they underwent the necessary procedures to avoid Casey Kasem's death. However, when they were told that his passing appeared to be inevitable, his adult children reportedly made sure to at least let their father die comfortably.
Casey Kasem's widow, Jean Kasem, appears to question whether her stepchildren took all the needed measures to preserve the radio star's life. She filed a lawsuit before the Pierce County Superior Court to have them surrender her husband's medical charts, laboratory results, billing records, notes, medications prescribed, and log of people who visited him.
The statement of Casey Kasem's children explained: "These records indisputably show that Mr. Kasem was extremely ill when admitted to St. Anthony's hospital on June 1, 2014."
Kerri Kasem and her group explained that Casey Kasem's death was reportedly influenced by Jean Kasem's neglect. The statement revealed: "These records also demonstrate that Kerri Kasem, as the court-appointed conservator of the person, authorized an aggressive course of treatment to combat the life-threatening infections Mr. Kasem had developed while under Mrs. Kasem's care."
According to Yahoo News, Jean Kasem's camp refuted the allegations that her neglect led to Casey Kasem's death last June at St. Anthony Hospital in Gig Harbor.
The lawyer of Jean Kasem, Lance Hester, explained: "When Casey entered the hospital, there was no expectation he had only a couple of weeks of life left to live. When he perished, his wife, Jeannie, was never given any sort of explanation," Jean Kasem's lawyer said.
