Which of these gadgets is the best purchase for consumers? The iPhone 6, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, or the Xiaomi Redmi Note
In term of design and display, the iPhone 6 has a slim aluminium body with a 4.7 inches screen that renders 750 x 1334 pixels at 326 PPI. The screen presents beautiful colours and has an oleophobic coating on it.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has the biggest screen between three smartphones. It has a 5.7 inches Super AMOLED screen having a Quad HD resolution. The superior QHD display has an outstanding pixel density of 515 PPI, and being an AMOLED display it presents amazing colours with great contrast ratios.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note also has a large display, a 5.5 inches screen having a 720p resolution at a low pixel density of 267 PPI. The display quality is fine and viewing content was manageable despite the low resolution.
For the hardware, the iPhone 6 runs on the latest A8 processor which has a 64 bit architecture. The 1.4 GHz processor is partnered by 1GB RAM. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has the Exynos octa core processor at 1.9 GHz partnered with an on board 3GB RAM which helps in running multiple apps at the same time and it also assures there is enough memory present to keep the system smooth. The Xiaomi Redmi Note is powered by a Mediatek 1.4 GHz octacore processor. It offers sufficient performance and is capable to keep the operation smooth for most of the time. Its 1GB RAM is a clear disadvantage when it comes to keeping the phone fluid smooth.
For the camera and battery specs, the iPhone 6 is equipped with a 8 megapixel camera which despite the lowest resolution camera in this series offers brilliant images. The Samsung Note 4 has a 16 megapixel camera clicks amazing images and is capable of 4K video recording. The Xiaomi Redmi Note comes with a tried and tested 13 megapixel unit which is known for its modest shots and good low light performance.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 comes with a 3220 mAh battery, which provide a full day coverage under heavy use. The Xiaomi Redmi Note has a promising 3200 mAh battery which is large enough to provide a complete battery backup. The iPhone 6 comes with a 1810 mAh battery which provides good backup, but might create problem if used heavily.
iPhone 6 is available at $849, while the Xiaomi Redmi Note cost $161, and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 cost $825.
