Katie Holmes chose to spread holiday cheer at charity hospital with daughter Suri than spending time with ex-husband Tom Cruise.
In a report from The Sun, as shared by E! News, Katie Holmes reportedly invited Tom Cruise to spend Christmas with her and Suri. According to the article, the former "Dawson's Creek" actress wanted to put their differences aside for the sake of their 8-year-old daughter.
But the rep for Katie Holmes told the site that she "did not spend Christmas afternoon with Tom Cruise as reported."
An insider also told the Sun that there's no truth to the rumors. ''There's no way Katie will set foot in Tom's home or be in the same room as the rest of his family, because they are all so involved with the Scientology movement," the source said.
Instead, Katie Holmes and Suri spent "Christmas afternoon visiting children at a local hospital in L.A.," People said.
The magazine said that Katie Holmes feels that the holidays are very important, particularly for Suri. On Thanksgiving, the 36-year-old actress even prepared an elaborate dinner as she told David Letterman.
"I'm very excited because this year, I feel like it's really the year. I'm the baby of five and I've been sort of using that for a long time. But now I'm taking responsibility, and my mother's going to teach me how to make a turkey," she said.
So the report by Sun tabloid that Katie Holmes wanted to give Suri the best possible Christmas, which is why she invited Tom Cruise over, was no surprise: ''She's asked him to come to their new home. Tom's agreed to try to schedule his holidays to involve Suri as much as possible. It was Tom's turn to have Suri on Christmas Day last year, so to see her again this year will be a bonus,'' according to the article.
