Gwyneth Paltrow news reported how the "Mortdecai" actress opened up about her relationship with her ex-husband, Coldplay singer Chris Martin.

According People, the actress' feature in the February issue of Marie Claire revealed how she and her former spouse are getting along.

Gwyneth Paltrow told the news publication. "We've worked really f---ing hard to get to [this] point. But we're very, very close, and it's so nice."

"I feel like it's, in a way, the relationship we were meant to have," the 42-year-old movie star said.

The Oscar-winning actress also revealed that there was "nothing dramatic" about her split with Chris Martin.

She explained the reason for their divorce: "I had built my life on trying to be all things to all people, and I just couldn't do it anymore."

Gwyneth Paltrow, who is gearing for the release of her movie "Mortdecai" later this January, detailed how she and Chris Martin decided to end their marriage.

"I really had the sense that I wasn't allowed to have needs, and I had to prove my specialness or self-worth by doing all this stuff and taking care of everybody else," Gwyneth Paltrow admitted.

"I just sort of hit a wall," she said.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin share two children: Apple, 10, and Moses, 8.

The actress pointed out how their children motivate them to stay in good terms in spite of their divorce. "I think we are all genuinely doing our best, it's hard to have children and a career," she said.

The widely-followed celebrity is also aware of how she has been judged after their split. She told People: "All some women seem to do is judge other women's choices."

"I find that demoralizing and unhelpful," she scoffed. "Where is the wisdom coming out of this situation? I don't see where this is getting us anywhere in terms of a cultural discussion."
