Good news Assassin's Creed fans as new updates for the video game turned film, Assassin's Creed movie have been revealed.
We start off with 20th Century Fox announcing several details for their movies, and according to reports from The Hollywood Reporter, Assassin's Creed the movie will place on December 26, 2016.
Certainly a great holiday treat for the fans of the Ubisoft game franchise, as it was originally intended to be released on August this year, but was delayed due to production issues. Snowman director Justin Kurzel will helm the film, and it will star X-Men: Days of Future Past star Michael Fassbender.
Their are rumors that the plot of the Assassin's Creed movie will be based on two games of the franchise. According to reports from KpopStarz.com, the movie will follow the Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag video game. The second rumored plot was reported by the Movie News Hound, claim that it will follow then Assassin's Creed 2 game, a.k.a the Ezio Auditore trilogy.
Certainly these rumors gave speculation that the Assassin's Creed movie will stay true to its video game nature, and giving fans what they want.
Perhaps there is truth to some of it rumors as Film Divider revealed several details on the movies plot. In the story Fassbender will take on two roles: A death row prisoner Michael Lynch, who is caught in a war between the Assassins and Templar factions. The second character is his ancestor Aguilar de Agarorobo, whose father is a member of the Assassin's guild in the Spanish Inquisition era.
The website mentioned two villains in both eras; Alan Rikkin, leader of the modern Templar guild, and Tomas de Torquemada, a Spanish Dominican friar. Tomas was character in the Assassin's Creed 2 video game, so there is some truth behind the AC2 plot rumors.
Fans will just have to wait for next year as Assassin's Creed movie will be shown in theaters on December 2016.
