Rain and Kim Tae Hee were seen on a date together in Shanghai this week. The singer-actor and his actress girlfriend have not been seen out together since June of 2014 when they were spotted dining at a Gangnam restaurant. Shortly before that date they were seen at a Six Flags amusement park in California. Kim flew to Los Angeles to meet Rain who was there to film "The Prince" with Bruce Willis and John Cusack.
When the actress appeared on a KBS2TV entertainment news program in November 2014 she was asked if she planned to go somewhere to enjoy the fall weather. Kim said she did not have any plans because she did not want to go alone and all her friends were busy.
"All of my friends work full time and so I don't have anyone to play with me," she said.
The program's host said, "You have Rain."
The actress could only say that he was busy. And he was busy last year playing an entertainment company CEO in the drama "My Lovable Girl" with f(x)'s Krystal Jung.
Some wondered if the relationship that began in 2012 might suffer from the same problem that ends so many relationships between celebrities: a too crowded schedule.
But apparently the relationship between the two stars is still going strong. Kim Tae Hee recently flew to China to visit Rain. He is currently in China shooting the film "Diamond Lover," which has taken him to Shanghai, Beijing, and Belgium. In the film he plays the cold-hearted perfectionist owner of a diamond company. The role earned him $5.5 million.
Kim Tae Hee also recently spent time working in China. Her last small screen role was playing the title character in the drama "Jang Ok Jung: Living By Love." After that she headed to China to film the historical film "Wang Xizhi" about the life of famous calligrapher Wang Xizhi. In preparation for her role in that film she learned about the art of calligraphy and immersed herself in Chinese culture.
Last year the couple's relationship prompted rumors that they were headed for the altar. The rumors began to circulate last year when Rain, a Buddhist was baptized in the Catholic Church. Kim Tae Hee is a devout Roman Catholic and his religious conversion was seen as a preliminary step toward marriage.
His agency, Cube Entertainment has denied the marriage rumors saying the couple has no plans for marriage yet.
