In line with The CW's trailer release for "iZombie," the network also teased an extended "The Messengers" first look video.

Apocalypse-themed shows are nothing new. Viewers have been devouring shows such as "The Walking Dead," and "The Leftovers" among others. Even the CW's own "Supernatural" tackled the issue of demons, angels and the end of the world in earlier episodes.

Here is another one that combines both supernatural and end-of-the-world elements.

When a mysterious object lands on earth, its radiating impact hits five random individuals who die and wake up with extraordinary powers that link all of them together. They also unknowingly prevented the Apocalypse from happening.

In "The Messengers" first look trailer, the five affected people suddenly hear voices and perform miraculous acts.

The most intriguing character in the new series, however, is the individual who fell on earth. According to Coming Soon, he is only known as "The Man," and he "brings death and suffering wherever he appears."

TV Line previously reported that "The Man," who will be played by Portuguese actor Diogo Morgado, will "provide answers about the strange events" that happened to the five people affected by the impact.

Morgado is no stranger to playing Biblical characters. He already portrayed Jesus Christ in the History channel's miniseries, "The Bible."

"The wheels of Revelation have begun to turn, and these five newly christened Angels of the Apocalypse may be the only hope for preventing the impending Rapture," Coming Soon reported.

Shantel VanSanten from "One Tree Hill," Sofia Black-D'Elia from "Gossip Girl," Jon Fletcher from "City of Dreams," Craig Frank from "Mixology," Joel Courtney from "Super 8" and Anna Diop from "Everybody Hates Chris" will be joining Morgado in "The Messengers."

Watch the premiere episode on April 10, Friday, 9 PM.
