"Community" fans rejoice! Reports has just recently revealed that season 6 will premiere on March 17 on Yahoo Screen.
This is definitely something to look forward to considering reports have got fans guessing on the exact premiere. It was only previously revealed that the show will air in "early 2015."
The new season has started filming with Alison Brie, Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Ken Jeong and Jim Rash. New cast members Paget Brewster and Keith David, on the other hand will join the wacky crew next season.
In a recent Q&A sesh at the TCA press tour, show creator Dan Harmon dished on the new cast, and his thoughts on some notable cast members leaving the show.
"Obviously, if I could somehow trick these characters into staying forever, I would. However, I do have a naive feeling that we've demonstrated that Greendale itself is an environment, it's a character, that it's not like the old days when it's like, "Hey, this is the A-Team," and then you're like, 'This is the new A-Team.' And everybody's like, 'That's not the A-Team.' This show has kind of crawled and struggled. One advantage of that it that it has learned how to survive like a pine tree. It's like we retain moisture. I hate my metaphors. One of the things that we've learned how to do is make sure that cast fluctuations don't destroy the show immediately. I pray to God every night -- I light a black candle and also pray to the Devil at the same time, in case I'm missing something -- that Donald Glover will come down my chimney and come back to the show. But also, Paget is amazing, and Keith David is amazing, and anybody that ever wants to leave the show should leave, and I actually believe that there's some version of the show where... This is like a platform. It's like a place where characters go through struggles," he said.
Meanwhile, other "Community" season 6 updates claim that the show will be patterned "to the look of the first season. We're going back to a more filmed look," cast member Jim Rash revealed to Yahoo TV. Apart from the familiar feel and look of season 1, season 6 will be shooting on location at the Los Angeles Community college. This will be another first since season 1.
Harmon further explained that "Community" season 6 going back to the feel fans loved "means building a foundation of immersiveness, believing Greendale is a real place, as opposed to surrendering to the fact that it's kind of a magical place. There's no episode so far where everyone's a Roman gladiator."
