Now that Showtime already released the "Penny Dreadful" season 2 trailer, we finally got a glimpse of how bloody this year will be.
In the pilot season, Sir Malcolm Murray (Timothy Dalton) gathered his gang of "special" individuals to battle creatures of the night and to search for his missing daughter, Mina. By the end of season one, however, Mina was killed and Vanessa Ives (Eva Green) became possessed with the ancient evil that had been plaguing her all her life.
In the new season, she will not be the only one dealing with her past. Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett), Viktor Frankenstein (Harry Treadaway) and even Sir Malcolm will have to deal with their own demons.
In the meantime, here are 10 things that we noticed about the "Penny Dreadful" season 2 trailer:
1. Ethan Chandler's blackouts turn to be bloodier than he could ever imagine. Past spoilers already revealed that the mysterious American is reportedly a werewolf who is running from something he did in the past.
2. He apparently also has some kind of knowledge about incense-burning rituals.
3. Dorian Gray (Reeve Carney) is still in love with Vanessa Ives.
4. The troubled psychic, on the other hand, seems to be confronting her demons. Is she going back to her old house?
5. Sir Malcolm seems to finally see Vanessa as a daughter. Will he be able to keep her safe?
6. Viktor Frankenstein will be resurrecting Ethan's dead lover Brona Croft (Bree Turner), but the good doctor won't be giving her back to him.
7. Brona will be given a new life, but will she be the same Brona that she was before she died?
8. Frankenstein's monster - The Creature (Rory Kinnear) - will have a new love interest and she doesn't look like Brona. Will he find love from a "normal" person or will he accept Brona as his bride?
9. Is the man with the disfigured face an enemy or an ally? Is he one of the people looking for Ethan?
10. Madame Kali's (Helen McCrory) bathtub full of blood makes her more sinister than she seemed in season one. Who is this woman? What does she want from Vanessa?
