Cumberbaby's name will have to wait as "The Imitation Game" actor Benedict Cumberbatch and fiancee Sophie Hunter have yet to learn the baby's gender. Meanwhile, the 38-year-old urged her female fans-who described themselves as "Cumberb----s"-- to empower themselves.
Speaking to The Ellen DeGeneres Show," the British actor told the comedian host, "We're gonna have some kind of baby."
About a week ago, the Internet exploded after news of Cumberbaby came out just two months after "The Imitation Game" actor Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter announced their engagement.
"I am delighted to confirm that Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are expecting their first child. They are both over the moon," the rep told Daily Mail.
An article from PageSix, revealed that because of the new development, about Cumberbaby coming along, Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter will marry "sooner than expected."
"Sophie is a few months along, and both she and Benedict are very excited about it. They are also quietly planning to marry in early spring," the source said.
Meanwhile, in his interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Benedict Cumberbatch, who's getting Oscar buzz for his turn as Alan Turing in "The Imitation Game," said that he had trouble at first getting used to the term "Cumberb----s."
"I just went, ladies, this is wonderful, I'm very flattered, but has this not set feminism back a little bit?" he said. "Empower yourselves if you're going to get silly about a guy with maybe a little bit more of a, sort of, you know, a high-regard, self-regard thing."
"But yeah, they were very sweet," said "The Imitation Game" actor Benedict Cumberbatch of her female fans describing themselves as "Cumberb----s." "They wrote back and were, like, well, we didn't mean any harm to feminism, we're just having a little bit of fun with your name.'"
