Sherri Shepherd and Johnny Gill have been spotted hanging out together last year, sparking rumors that they are dating.
According to Madame Noir, the former talk show co-host cleared the air when asked about her and the "My, My, My" singer. Reportedly, the comedienne said "she's got a little thing for Johnny, as in she wants to sleep with him." The website immediately set things straight that the two are just friends in reference to their previous interview with the R & B crooner.
In a video posted in madameniore.com last October, Johnny Gill said Sherri Shepherd is "like a homie" for him. Johnny said in the video that he loves to laugh and Sherri is one person who can find humor in every situation.
According to Daily Mail, the duo met on June 25 when Johnny Gill performed with his band on "The View." Reportedly, Shepherd's friend said that they've been seeing each other ever since. The duo has yet to confirm they are dating.
"Sherri is a big New Edition fan and was excited to have them at the show. But she and Johnny really connected and exchanged personal contact information," a source at the show revealed to MailOnline.
Allegedly, the two began their communication long distance, using FaceTime on their iPhones. Rumors suggested that Johnny flew Sherri out to see him in the New Edition "All Six" tour.
"She flew out to see him in Houston, Virginia Beach and Los Angeles. She enjoyed being out on the road and enjoyed getting to know him," the source said.
According to MailOnline, after their alleged date night in Houston, Johnny tweeted: "you're the best; I had so much fun hanging with you, love love love you!!!"
"Sometimes you need friends who make you laugh," Sherri Shepherd responded. "Thank you for a crazy night!"
Johnny reportedly flew into New York City to be with Sherri when she had her last episode of The View taped on July 31. As of this writing, however, Sherri Shepherd and Johnny Gill are still just friends and not dating.
