Bill Cosby has been accused of sexually assaulting more than 20 women and reportedly recently joked about the allegations during his comedy show in Canada.
Despite the support of his wife, Camille, as well as that of Whoopi Goldberg, Bill Cosby may face criminal charges as the allegations made by one of his accusers, Chloe Goins, reportedly might fall within the state’s legal statute of limitations, according to website MyCentralOregon.
“Mr. Cosby feels brazen enough and confident enough in his actions to make jokes at some of his shows about the 25-plus women that have now come forward. Ms. Goins is certainly not joking,” stated Attorney Spencer Kuvin.
The 77-year-old comedian has reportedly never been charged in connection to the series of sexual assault allegations.
24-year-old Goins reportedly came forward with her allegations publicly in mid-December telling the Daily Mail that Bill Cosby had drugged and assaulted her, according to Philly.com. Goins alleged that she woke up to Cosby licking her toes and masturbating when she was 18.
Bill Cosby had reportedly been planning for upcoming shows at a downtown Denver theater, but activists have called for cancelation of the show, according to the Denver Post. President of AEG Live reportedly declined to cancel the shows and councilwoman Susan Shepherd spoke on the requests for cancelation as well.
“Mr. Cosby has not been charged with anything. He has not been tried. He has not been convicted. We all know that,” stated Shepherd.
But “that doesn’t change the fact” that the sexual assault allegations are following Cosby on his tour, continued Shepherd.
