A new character is confirmed in new "The Walking Dead" season 5 spoilers, and fans of the graphic novels may finally see Rick's crew teaming up with the familiar gay couple of the comics.

There's new "The Walking Dead" season 5 spoilers percolating in the rumor mill; with only a month left in the series' season break, there's anticipation for the outcome of Beth's death. It's hinted Rick's crew will be tighter than ever after the tragedy, but show-runner Scott Gimple also insisted worse days are ahead.

"This isn't the last devastating event to befall these characters... they are being tested and they are being pushed and this isn't the end of that."

The latest trailer shows Rick's crew wandering in search of their next sanctuary, which could be anywhere, with the mission to reach Washington D.C. scrapped.

One of the confirmed reports for the second half of season 5 is actor Ross Marquand, though. He's expected to step in as a series regular, continuing to season 6. His character is yet to be confirmed.

The TV series deviated from the track of the graphic novel, but if the rest of season 5 plays out like the comics, then it's likely Rick's crew is still bound for Washington D.C.

Producer Robert Kirkman teased the show will soon see a gay character fans of the graphic novel are familiar with. Kirkman could be referring to Aaron, who first stepped in on issue #67 of the graphic novels.

Could Aaron be the group's next stop as the show resumes in February? Aaron and his boyfriend are significant characters in the comics, providing the group with a place to crash, lending a hand with the walkers, and going on food runs.

Aaron is still alive in the latest issue of the graphic novel. Could Ross Marquand portray him on the TV show? "The Walking Dead" season 5 continues February 8.
