New reports are starting to circulate that The Elder Scrolls Online is going free to play in the next few weeks.

According to The Mole of Game Debate, it won't be long before Zenimax and Bethesda makes the announcement.

"To cut a long story short, reports are surfacing that The Elder Scrolls Online may be revealed as a free-to-play title within a matter of weeks. It follows on from the removal of six-month subscriptions a little while back, but the move is likely to incorporate both the F2P model and subscriptions, in a similar vein to Star Wars: The Old Republic," the article read.

"The removal of six-month subscriptions is the pre-cursor to this, and I wouldn't be surprised to see current subscribers rewarded for jumping in early with some exclusive trinkets and ranks. Where this would leave the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions I don't know, but I intend to find out. "

According to Games.On.net, and as reported by Joystiq, Australian retailers Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi have followed suit and have "deleted copies of the game from their physical stores."

A source confirmed to Games.On.net that "all game cards and copies were pulled out of Harvey Norman, and the ONLY reason that would happen is because it has become a free product [...] if it was being brought out in a different format, it'd have a price drop, not a recall."

Meanwhile, other The Elder Scrolls Online free to play and console release date reports confirm the game's availability on Xbox One and PS4 by 2015.

According to International Business Times, "Developer Zenimax Online Studios has put to rest the rumours on the release of MMORPG game Elder Scrolls Online and has now announced that the game will be released in 2015. It added that the game will be coming on Xbox One and PS4 platforms."
