Good news Power Ranger fans as new updates and details for the Power Rangers movie reboot have been revealed.

Apparently the Power Rangers movie will begin production this year as ComicBook.com reports that former Power Rangers star and martial artist Jason David Frank has confirmed that they will be shooting soon.

JDF openly admitted to ComicBook.com that he still doesn't have any idea on how the Power Rangers reboot movie works right now, but he's confident enough to play his part in the movie thanks to his performance, and experiences in the TV shows.

"We’re definitely not in a holding pattern. The movie is definitely set for this year. Everything is in place. They won’t give me specific details because it’s all like hush-hush. Even me, I try. I email Saban and ask them kind of what you’re asking me, but they do feel that I’m going to be part of it, because they feel there’s no movie, at least, without me. The funny thing is, one way or another, whether it happens or it doesn’t, I’ve been great to Lionsgate and I’ve been loyal to Saban. It’s not like they owe me, but if I want to ask for a personal favor, I’ve invested into their emotional bank account. I feel like it’s fair to have that withdrawal with them, because I’ve done nothing but support them for the last 10 years, 20 years in fact.So when that happens, I don’t need to cash in any favors. I believe it’s going to happen anyway, but when it does, I’ll keep my fans involved, but I will tell you it is being filmed this year. I know that for a fact. It’s going to be great when it is."

With that in mind, Power Ranger fans will be excited and hyped to see him with the new cast of Rangers in the big screen.

Speaking of cast. They're are still rumors floating around that the new Rangers in the movie will consist of Liam Hemsworth (Red), Chloe Grace Moretz (Pink), Michael B. Jordan (Green/White), Brenda Song (Yellow), Jamie Bell (Blue), and Donald Glover (Black).

ComicBook.com stated that Liam Neeson is rumored play the Ranger's mentor Zordon, and that Michael Fassbender, Meryl Streep, and Tom Hardy are being tapped to play the villains Lord Zedd, Rita Repulsa, and Goldar in the movie.

But, the biggest question of them all is that who will direct the film. There have been rumors that Michael Bay will helm the Power Rangers reboot, but no confirmation yet on his part.

So far, these questions and rumors have not yet been answered, and fans are still waiting for updates on both Lionsgate and Saban regarding the movie.

The Power Rangers movie reboot will launch in movie theaters on July 22, 2016.
