Bad news for PC gamers as the Star Citizen release date has been moved up to 2017 and that Sony is negotiating a PS4 version of the game which could delay the game even further, if the reports and rumors are to be believed.

The Christian Quarterly has reported that Cloud Imperium Games has allegedly admitted that their initial estimation of a 2016 launch for Star Citizen is a bit unreachable now following the growing trend of developers delaying games to polish the game and fix bugs.

The report also states that Cloud Imperium Games assures fans that the possible release date move would only benefit them as they would play the game with less bugs than what they would have played if Cloud Imperium Games rushed the release date.

Meanwhile, there is a rumor going around that Sony is negotiating with Cloud Imperium Games about releasing Star Citizen for the PS4.

Fans are weary of this as development for the PC version could slow down if a PS4 version were to happen, thus possibly delaying the release date of Star Citizen.

In other Star Citizen news, Cloud Imperium Games have released the Arena Commander v1.0 to the backers of the game.

Chris Roberts of Cloud Imperium Games has released a detailed assessment of the new additions in the latest version of Arena Commander v1.0 as well as a short summary which you can read below:

"Arena Commander 1.0 is here! Today's release marks the most significant update to Arena Commander yet, adding both the long-awaited lobby system and more than tripling the number of flyable ships. Every variant of the Aurora, Mustang, 300 and Hornet are now flyable, as are the base models of the Cutlass and the Avenger. If you've been waiting to fly one of Star Citizen's single-seaters, there's a good chance your ship has come in today!"
