It looks like Grand Theft Auto 6 would share the same continuity of Red Dead Redemption as the rumored protagonist of GTA 6 is going to be a descendant of John Marston.
Video game tipster, DragonDMonkey, has revealed a bunch of new alleged info about the development of Grand Theft Auto 6.
In DragonDMonkey's post on the popular image board, 4Chan, he detailed that GTA 6 would be developed for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One. He also claimed that unlike previous GTA games, Rockstar is going to release GTA 6 on all 3 platforms simultaneously instead of doing a console release first before launching the PC version.
But the biggest bombshell in DragonDMonkey's post on 4Chan is that Rockstar is allegedly going to confirm that Red Dead Redemption and the HD Universe of GTA are connected as the protagonist of GTA 6 is going to be a descendant of John Marston.
It should be noted that players could play as a descendant of John Marston on GTA Online but this would mark the first time that players would play a canon character that is a descendant of the Red Dead Redemption protagonist.
Meanwhile, GTA 6's setting could likely be Vice City if it overcomes the thing that makes the GTA: Vice City game special.
Rockstar Games president Leslie Benzies has stated that "We've got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do. We don't know what GTA 6 will be, but we've got some ideas."
"Of course at some point we would like to have one big world containing all our cities and let the player fly between them and revisit their favorite areas. In that context re-imagining Vice City would be very interesting."
Leslie Benzies also admitted that Vice City is a setting that Rockstar wants to revisit in the next-gen consoles. However, Benzies stated that Vice City was as much about the era as it was the setting.
"Miami in the 1980's is so iconic it would feel strange to revisit the city in a different time period."
As always, take the information presented by tipsters with a grain of salt. But what do you think about GTA 6 being in the same continuity with Red Dead Redemption and it being set on Vice City? Sound off in the comments below!
