Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen played an integral role in "X-Men: Days of Future Past," but the question is if we will see them again in the upcoming sequel? Fans of the "X-Men" franchise were thrilled when they saw both the original cast and the new cast appear in one film. It's really interesting seeing Professor X (Stewart) facing the younger Professor X played by James McAvoy. Same goes for Magneto (McKellen) and his younger counterpart Michael Fassbender.
During an interview with Larry King (via Yahoo Movies), the 74-year old actor revealed that he and his best friend won't be returning for "X-Men: Apocalypse." Stewart said point-blank, "No. Nor Sir Ian McKellen, either." He explained, "I was learning quite a lot more about it last night, and it is going to be looking very much at the earlier lives of all our characters. And so I don't think we'll be making an appearance."
Based on what Patrick Stewart said, it looks like we will be seeing the New Class of X-Men in the 2016 film. Apart from James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender, some of the actors that were featured in "X-Men: Days of Future Past" such as Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), and Evan Peters (Quicksilver) will be returning in the sequel.
There were rumors that Hugh Jackman will be joining the New Class since his character Wolverine doesn't age. During an interview with Happy Sad Confused (via Slash Film) the 46-year old actor teased a possible return in "X-Men: Apocalypse."
"I have been speaking with the guys and I am not at liberty to tell exactly what's going on," he said.
The Aussie heartthrob added, "Which is largely framing my answer here. But there's still a lot unknown, actually, about that. What I do know is there are some very exciting things about integrating the whole X-Men world, including the Wolverine movie. There's some really cool things going on."
Who else do you want to see from "X-Men: Days of Future Past" in "X-Men: Apocalypse?"
