When The CW released the first trailer for "The Messengers" TV show, viewers automatically assumed that it would be about religion with its apocalyptic theme and mention of angels.

However, the upcoming series' executive producer Trey Callaway insisted that it isn't.

Instead of "The Messengers" TV show being about any specific religion, it's supposedly just a "show about faith."

"The series is relatable," Callaway explained. "Every major religion in the world has its own version of the end of days scenario."

The new CW supernatural series hopes to reportedly express "faith in powers greater than anything you ever imagined."

Deadline reported that the show's writers' room included people who were "Catholics, agnostics, Buddhists, athiests, etc."

He and the rest of the crew wants "The Messengers" "the ticket for people looking for hope in this troubled world."

According to the synopsis released by the network, the "blinding explosion" that a mysterious object causes at it crash lands to earth will connect five people who resurrects "with extraordinary gifts they can barely believe."

"Most mysterious of all is a figure known only as The Man, who brings death and suffering wherever he appears," the synopsis continued. "The wheels of Revelation have begun to turn, and these five newly christened Angels of the Apocalypse may be the only hope for preventing the impending Rapture."

"The Messengers" TV show stars "Son Of God" star Diogo Morgado as The Man.

Shantel VanSanten from "One Tree Hill," Sofia Black-D'Elia from "Gossip Girl," Jon Fletcher from "City of Dreams," Craig Frank from "Mixology," Joel Courtney from "Super 8" and Anna Diop from "Everybody Hates Chris" will be joining Morgado.

Watch out for the premiere episode on April 10, Friday, 9 PM.
