Miranda Lambert is apparently anxious about Blake Shelton's gig on "Saturday Night Live" but it's not so surprising particularly with "The Voice" coach's confession that his country singer wife is like a stage mom.

In an inteview with E! News, Blake Shelton admitted that Miranda Lambert's is surely worried about him hosting "SNL."

"Miranda's always the one when we're at parties or something and I'm being funny and I start taking it too far into gross land or whatever, she's the one that's always like, 'Blake! Blake, stop it,'" he said. "She won't be here when we do this and there won't be anybody. She's like a stage mom and she won't be here to go, 'Oh, I really don't think you should do that.'"

Blake Shelton, meanwhile, is the opposite of wife Miranda Lambert in the sense that he literally has no fear.

He told Rolling Stone that he's perfect as a host of "Saturday Night Live."

"I'm not really nervous. I'm a natural at making an ass out of myself. If that's what this show requires of me, I think I'm gonna nail it," he said.

According to the magazine, Blake Shelton is joining an impressive list of country music stars who also hosted "SNL" including Garth Brooks, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, and Tim McGraw.

The last time that a country star hosted the comedy show was Lady Antebellum back in October 2011.

Apart from Miranda Lambert misgivings, Blake Shelton said that her mother and sister have some weird requests. "[My mom] wanted me to tell Chevy Chase hi, and my sister wanted me to get Dana Carvey's autograph so it shows you just how out of touch my family is," he said.

Chevy Chase and Dana Carvey left the show in 1976 and 1993, respectively.
