It looks like Jeremy Lin could be headed to another team if these NBA trade rumors are to be believed.
It is no secret that Jeremy Lin's performance has not been up to snuff when he got traded to the LA Lakers and the Lakers are now looking for someone to replace him.
ESPN's Baxter Holmes and Ramona Shelbourne have noted that Jeremy Lin has not been producing well for the Lakers, and when asked about if Jeremy Lin has done enough to warrant staying with the Lakers beyond this season, this is what they said:
Baxter Holmes: "No. There have been a handful of games in which Lin has looked like a player worth keeping, but then there have been many others in which it seems as if acquiring him was a mistake. Even on a bad team, he has been wildly inconsistent, and, as coach Byron Scott has said, Lin still has a lot to prove. At the moment, I'm not sure he has done enough to be considered a player the Lakers should consider in their future plans."
Ramona Shelburne: "No. While he has shown flashes of solid, steady play, he hasn't done enough to warrant a significant financial investment by the Lakers this summer. Frankly, I don't know that he'd even want to stay considering he's not starting and has noticeably had trouble playing alongside Kobe Bryant."
Anthony Irwin of Rantsports said that the Lakers are actively trying to find someone willing to take Jeremy Lin's contract for the remainder of the season.
But as the report on Rantsports notes:
"The issue is few are willing to pay someone averaging single digits across the board nearly $10 million. Daryl Morey, GM of the Houston Rockets, had to send a first-round pick with Lin to convince the Lakers to take him. Based on that, it's hard to imagine anyone would be willing to part with an asset to bring him in."
Anthony Irwin then speculated about the future of the Laker point guard:
"My prediction is Lin gets moved for a future second-round pick that likely yields nothing and a contract to make it work. Doing so frees up more playing time for Clarkson, and Lin could produce for a playoff team like the Milwaukee Bucks, whose backup point guard, Kendall Marshall, recently tore his ACL and is out for the season."
