Mandy Moore and her musician husband Ryan Adams will be added to the list of 2015 celebrity divorces.
Moore had revealed in 2012 that Adams was working with her on her next studio album, so the recent news of the divorce has led to fans of the singer wondering if future collaborations will be out of the picture.
Adams and Moore have reportedly collaborated with each other throughout the years, with the former pop star contributing to the background vocals to the rocker’s 2011 album “Ashes & Fire” and “Ryan Adams’ ‘Trouble,’” according to Rolling Stone.
“Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams have mutually decided to end their marriage of almost six years,” a rep for the couple said in a statement to the NY Daily News.
The statement continued, “It is a respectful amicable parting of ways, and both Mandy and Ryan are asking for media to respect their privacy at this time.”
Moore reportedly filed her divorce petition in Los Angeles on Friday, citing irreconcilable differences, RadarOnline.com first reported. Moore is reportedly asking for spousal support and stated that the date of their separation will be determined in the future.
The divorce has come as a surprise as the couple, who married in Savannah, GA in 2009, had celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary with a party last March, according to People.com. Moore had reportedly even posted a photo of her marriage certificate on her Instagram with the caption “The best 5 years.”
