The Elder Scrolls Online console release date delay did the developers good, new reports suggest.
According to Cinema Blend, "If you've been keeping track of Elder Scrolls Online you might remember that the game was delayed for the Xbox One and PS4. The delay has allowed Zenimax Online, a subsidiary of Zenimax, to focus on cleaning the game up for home consoles and optimizing the specs for the highest performance afforded for the eighth-gen machines."
New reports have also dished on the console version's 1080p and 30fps target. During a recent Reddit AMA, Zenimax Online addressed some pressing concerns about the console version out by June.
"For your first question, the targets are 30 fps and 1080p resolution for both platforms," the team answered in reply to Worlds Factory's query.
"For your second question, we're definitely looking to add controller support to the PC game (including the same UI as console), but that won't be available until after console launch."
The Elder Scrolls Online has recently dropped it susbcription fee, but players of the MMORPG on consoles might still have to pay next-gen consoles membership fees.
"As the game makes the move to console, it's being retitled The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited. The new name comes with another important change: Bethesda is dropping the monthly subscription fee, making the game fully free to play. Next generation consoles owners can simply buy the game when it launches on June 9 and never need to pay a cent again," CNET reported.
"Bethesda does note, however, that as with any standard multiplayer game on these platforms, an internet connection and an Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus membership will be required to play," the site added.
