Lady Gaga news reported that her new song, "Till It Happens To You", appears to speak about her rape history. According to Idolator, the new track is a collaboration between the pop star and acclaimed songwriter Diane Warren.
Lady Gaga's new song was first heard at the Sundance Film Festival as it is part of the Kirby Dick documentary "The Hunting Ground." The film reveals the shocking rape culture that is said to be taking place at college campuses everywhere.
Lady Gaga news said that while the actual track nas not yet been released, the international hitmaker and Diane Warren have been tweeting details about "Till It Happens To You".
The pop star proudly announced their collaboration through a tweet during the Sundance Film Festival.
"Recorded a song w/ amazing @Diane_Warren for very important doc #TheHuntingGround that premieres at Sundance today! Congrats 2 all involved," she tweeted via her @ladygaga account.
The pop star herself revealed what the documentary "The Hunting Ground" is all about.
"The film documents the lives of young people affected by rape. Our song is called "Till It Happens To You'," she said.
Songwriter Diane Warren also took to Twitter to share lyrics of their collaboration.
"@ladygaga: Till It happens to you, you don't know how it feels, how it feels. How it feels..." she posted using her account @Diane_Warren.
"You don't know how it feels... Till your world burns and crashes, till [you're] at the end, the end of your rope," Lady Gaga added in response to Diane Warren's tweet.
Lady Gaga's new song and the documentary that she has been promoting appear to be related to her alleged rape history, which broke the news towards the end of last year.
According to an earlier report from Cosmopolitan, Lady Gaga opened up to Howard Stern about the rape incident when she guested at his show.
"I was about 19... I went to Catholic school and then all this crazy stuff happened," she narrated.
"I was going, 'Oh, is this just the way adults are?'"
"I was very naïve... It wasn't until I was a little bit older that I went, 'Wow, that was really messed up,'" the singer revealed.
