Mortal Kombat fans rejoice as new game details and updates from NetherRealm Studios new fighting game sequel, Mortal Kombat X have been revealed.

To start off, a "Klassic" Mortal Kombat character returns to the franchise as Reptile looks to rip apart Kung Lao in the new gameplay trailer for Mortal Kombat X, courtesy of IGN's YouTube channel.

Reptile has been added to the list returning Mortal Kombat characters in the game which includes the likes of Kung Lao, Kitanna, Quan Chi, Kano, Raidern, Sub-Zero, and Scorpion.

Other old Mortal Kombat characters are also rumored to have comeback as Attack of The Fanboy reported before that Kenshi, and Liu Kang will join the game, while Gamer Headlines claim that it will be Smoke and Ermac, and finally Playstationlifestyle.net pointed out that Motaro will also return in Mortal Kombat X.

So far, no confirmation has been made whether these guys will appear in the game. However, Mortal Kombat creator tweeted last week that two characters are joining the game to which we found out that Reptile was the first one to show up.

So who's next?

Ed Boon posted another tweet indicating that the second fighter will be revealed tomorrow Jan 29, along with a new game demo.

But that's not all, gaming website GameRant added that Ed Boon retweeted a fan-made image that features Twisted Metal's Sweet Tooth, and Marcus Fenix of Gears of War.

Could this mean that they are the guest characters in the game?

Several reports have been made about the rumored guest characters in Mortal Kombat X, which includes the likes of Spawn, Ash Williams, Frank the Bunny, Pinhead, the T-800 Terminator, Juliet Starling, and more. Perhaps Sweet Tooth and Marcus Fenix are the likely the chosen candidates to be added in the roster.

Finally, rumors have spread that two powerful Mortal Kombat characters will serve as the possible final boss in the game.

Cyberland reports that NetherRealm is considering either Shinnok or Onaga to become the final boss in game. Shinnok was first hinted after the last Mortal Kombat game's story ending when Quan Chi was speaking to him, which makes him the first possible pick. For Onaga, he hasn't been mentioned in the previous game, but since he's a powerful entity in the franchise, perhaps the game developers might give him a shot in the new game.
