Adam Lambert and Queen's UK tour met some very positive reviews but nothing says success than getting mobbed on the street by avid fans. In the Grammy nominee's case, however, getting mobbed on the subway.

According to The Mirror, the "Trespassing" singer liked to "keep it real" whenever he visited London, using the subway for transportation. Though he's well-known in the US for his "American Idol" stint, he had been, until recently, "largely unknown" in the UK, according to The Inquistr.

However, after showing off his singing prowess with Queen around Britain this month, he received quite a reception from British fans. Adam Lambert and Queen have been casually selling out gigs at the O2 arena and other venues in the UK this month.

"He often goes on the tube when he's here because it's easier - he did it in November and didn't have a problem," an insider reportedly told Mirror Celeb. "But during his gigs in London this month he got absolutely mobbed with people asking for pictures and his autograph."

According to The Inquistr, Queen's legendary guitarist, Brian May called Lambert a "gift from God," while drummer Roger Taylor said that the band's original lead singer, Freddie Mercury "would be his No. 1 fan."

The source also shared that Adam Lambert and Queen's New Year's Eve performance helped raise his popularity in the country.

This new-found curiosity from fans will certainly help the "Whataya Want From Me" singer with the announcement of his record deal with Warner Bros.

He will reportedly work with Max Martin and Shellback for his upcoming album, which is set to be released in April!

For now, Adam Lambert and Queen's UK tour is still in business. With more shows on the calendar (for the UK and Europe, it looks like Lambert will have to ride taxis or hire a personal driver now that he's becoming such a recognizable star in Britain.
