Big Sean bragged about new lady love, Ariana Grande, but he might have put down former girlfriend Naya Rivera in the process.
According to Hollywood Life, in an interview with the "Clique" rapper, he revealed that his new relationship is Ariana Grande "'special' and he appreciates 'every moment of it.'"
"[Ariana and I] started as friends. I'd never done that. Usually you meet a girl and then start dating. We always saw each other in the studio, and we'd talk about songs we were working on. It was cool to have a girl that I could talk to about my problems. I did that with her. It's not some fake-ass, inauthentic s*** when I say we were friends. This is something special and I appreciate every moment of it," Big Sean told Complex.
Hollywood Life noted that even if Naya Rivera's name was not mentioned, Big Sean implied in his statement that this is the first time he ever experienced that kind of relationship.
In November last year, Big Sean appeared to be bitter over his former girlfriend Naya Rivera when he posted a photo from his "IDFWU" music video and captioned the pic, "To be honest I never gave a f**k!"
Reportedly, Big Sean's song "IDFWU" was largely believed to be aimed at the "Glee" star. If the post is really aimed to Naya, it looks like a big insult. Hollywood Life noted that "the rapper was trying to paint a very clear picture that he didn't care for his ex."
"His new video and song is all about Naya," Hollywood Life's source said. "He's always said that he dodged a bullet with her and then he put it in the song. And he's a quarterback because she's a cheerleader on Glee."
Big Sean and former girlfriend Naya Rivera dated and got engaged in Oct. 2013. They called off their engagement in April 2014. Naya has since married Ryan Dorsey and Big Sean had moved on with Ariana Grande.
