Shakira recently welcomed her second baby boy with long time boyfriend Gerard Pique in Barcelona, Spain. The UNICEF Goodwill Amabassador even posted a snap of her little tot in the UNICEF World Baby Shower website.
The 37-year-old mother gave birth to her son in Teknon Clinic on Jan. 29, where fans and reporters also camped to anticipate the birth of the pop star's new baby.
Shakira and her Barcelona FC player boyfriend kept their normal routine days before their son's birth as Gerard Pique even went to Madrid for a match. But the athlete rushed to the clinic just in time for the singer's labor.
According to a report from Hello Magazine, the name of Shakira's second baby boy was revealed by Gerard Pique's grandfather Amador Bernabéu.
The player's grandfather told reporters, "He's called Sasha, which is Alexander in Russian."
The proud great granddad added that the bouncing baby boy looked a lot like his father.
"They've told me he looks like Gerard. (Their first son) Milan looked like Shakira when he was born but this one looks more like his father."
The report also added that the grandfather made an appointment to make Shakira's newborn baby a member of the team where Gerard Pique plays.
It can be recalled that Shakira and Gerard Pique's firstborn, Milan, was also appointed as member when he was born two years ago.
Meanwhile, the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador posted a picture of her newborn son in the UNICEF World Baby Shower website.
Shakira said in her caption: "We'd like to introduce you to Sasha Piqué Mebarak - to meet him go to worldbabyshower.org."
In her Twitter account, the "Waka Waka (It's Time For Africa)" singer also posted a snap shot of Sasha's feet with the caption: "I have Daddy's feet, it looks like I've been playing football my whole life."
The UNICEF World Baby Shower is a cause to raise fund for poverty-stricken areas around the world for which Shakira has long been associated with.
She and her long time partner asked fans to donate money to the institution for their second virtual baby shower.
The couple did the same thing in 2013 when Milan was born in the same hospital. The said act resulted to the polio vaccination of over 80, 000 children.
Four tons of therapeutic food for the children, who have been suffering from malnutrition, were also bought. Also, around 1,000 anti-malaria bed nets and 200,000 oral rehydration salts sachets were distributed to the beneficiaries, The Hollywood Life said.
Before Shakira gave birth to her new baby, she said, "Now that we are soon welcoming our second child we want to help other children around the world and also contribute to a long-lasting solution for getting children living in extreme poverty the supplies they need to survive."
