Oscars 2015 Awards Night: Will Neil Patrick Harris Top Ellen DeGeneres’ Hosting Last Year? Promises ‘F—g Hilarious’ Time For Everyone

Last year, Ellen DeGeneres managed to get the most retweets with the selfie she had with the best actors and actresses in the industry. What will Neil Patrick Harris do at the Oscars 2015 awards night on Feb. 22 that will top the talk show host's hilarity last year?

Fans of both the Academy Awards and the "How I Met Your Mother" star will reportedly not have to worry his hosting gig.

According to E! News, the comedian already sounded like he'll be breaking several Academy rules. He already started that off by attending the annual luncheon which gathers the nominees before the actual awards night.

He also gave some very promising assurances during the said event in Beverly Hills.

"Some of you are good friends and some of you I just got a chance to meet for the first time but we are all going to be spending Oscar night together, where everything will be hilarious," he told the elite crowd last Monday.

Thinking that the 195 nominees needed a bit more convincing, the father-of-two also tried to hypnotize them.

"Everything will be hilarious," he mock-hypnotized the group. "Everything will be f-king hilarious!"

The Oscars 2015 Awards Night won't be Harris' first rodeo in this aspect of the industry. He already hosted the Emmy Awards in 2013.

Hollywood Reporter also previously reported that Harris was the Academy's fourth choice to host the prestigious event. The award giving body supposedly asked Ellen DeGeneres, Chris Rock, and finally Julia Louis-Dreyfus. All three of them allegedly denied the offered role.

Nevertheless, Neil Patrick Harris promises to make that night as epic as possible despite admitting to Huffington Post that he sees the Oscars as something he was "terrified to take on" as a host.

Months later, he seems to be more relaxed with the idea.

"Thanks again for inviting me to the party today and the big dance on the 22nd. We're going to have a great deal of fun," Harris told the Academy during the luncheon.

How excited are you to see Neil Patrick Harris host the Oscars 2015 Awards Night?
